Disney hunger strike moves to Burbank

Eight Disneyland employees who have been on a weeklong hunger strike to protest stalled negotiations on a new labor contract will break their fast today as they end their demonstrations in Anaheim and move to Disney’s headquarters in Burbank.

Dungey stretches Supercross series lead with Anaheim victory

There was a bit of redemption at Saturday night’s Monster Energy AMA Supercross series race at Angel Stadium. Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey of Belle Plaine, Minn., won his first 450cc class race last week in Phoenix. That was with top riders James Stewart Jr. and Chad Reed already out of the race. Reed was not on the track Saturday while he recuperates from surgery to repair a broken wrist, but 2009 series champion Stewart, who was involved with Reed in that crash, was right there. Almost the entire 20-lap race.

Ducks beat Blues in shootout

Bobby Ryan nets two goals in third period to spark Anaheim comeback and James Wisniewski scores in the seventh round of the shootout.

Anaheim defenseman James Wisniewski scored in the seventh round of the shootout and the Ducks rallied to a 4-3 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night.

Anaheim GM Bob Murray sees signs of chemistry on a team that has four straight wins and a custom of arising in the season’s second half.

A week ago the Ducks were 12 points out of the last West playoff spot and seemed headed toward being broken up and plundered by contending teams.

Stewart takes Supercross season opener in Anaheim

James Stewart Jr. only had to wait for that one rookie mistake. It took 17 laps for the 2009 Monster Energy supercross series champion to jump on it. Rookie Ryan Dungey, who led Stewart by more than five seconds, bobbled just before the start of the 18th lap to allow Stewart to make the pass and Stewart held on to win the series opener Saturday night in front of 43,841 at Angel Stadium.
